Overview
Grade HU is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel casting alloy defined by ASTM A297/A297M, intended for high-temperature applications where moderate strength and oxidation resistance are required. It typically contains around 19% chromium and 9% nickel, offering a balance of thermal stability and corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments. HU is commonly used in furnace parts, heat-treatment trays, and general high-temperature service components. Its cost-effectiveness and reasonable resistance to scaling and deformation under heat make it a practical choice for industrial heating applications with moderate performance demands.
