Overview
CF8M is an austenitic stainless steel casting alloy specified under ASTM A743/A743M, designed for corrosion-resistant service in pressure-containing and structural components. It is the cast equivalent of wrought 316 stainless steel and contains molybdenum to enhance resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced attack. CF8M offers excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, including marine, chemical processing, and water treatment applications. Its strength, ductility, and formability make it a popular choice for pump casings, valve bodies, flanges, and other components exposed to aggressive media.
