Overview
CG3M is an austenitic stainless steel casting alloy specified under ASTM A351/A351M for pressure-containing components such as valves, flanges, pumps, and fittings. It is a low-carbon, molybdenum-bearing grade designed to offer excellent corrosion resistance while minimizing the risk of sensitization and intergranular attack. As the cast equivalent of wrought 316L stainless steel with controlled chemistry for improved weldability, CG3M provides reliable performance in chloride-bearing environments and mildly aggressive chemical service. Its combination of corrosion resistance, ductility, and structural integrity makes it well suited for applications in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and pulp and paper industries.
