Overview

Grade HD is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel casting alloy defined by ASTM A297/A297M, designed for use in high-temperature environments where good oxidation resistance and mechanical strength are required. It typically contains approximately 25% chromium and 12% nickel, offering a stable structure and moderate resistance to thermal degradation. HD is suitable for furnace hardware, heat-treat baskets, and other structural components exposed to continuous or cyclic heating. It provides a reliable combination of durability, thermal stability, and resistance to scaling, making it well-suited for applications in the heat treatment and metallurgical processing industries.
