Overview
Grade HE is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel casting specified by ASTM A297/A297M, developed for service in extreme high-temperature environments. With elevated levels of chromium and nickel—typically around 30% and 20% respectively—HE offers exceptional resistance to oxidation, carburization, and scaling under prolonged thermal exposure. It is commonly used in the most demanding furnace and heat-treatment applications, including radiant tubes, support structures, and thermal processing components where dimensional stability and surface integrity must be maintained. Grade HE is selected for its superior performance in aggressive industrial atmospheres and continuous high-temperature service.
