Overview
Grade 2A is a duplex stainless steel casting alloy specified under ASTM A995/A995M, engineered for pressure-containing parts in demanding corrosive environments. It features a balanced composition of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and nitrogen, resulting in a dual-phase microstructure that offers high mechanical strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Grade 2A provides enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-bearing media and is well suited for components exposed to seawater, brines, and chemical process fluids. Typical applications include pump and valve castings, pressure vessels, and marine hardware used in desalination, offshore platforms, and industrial processing systems.
