Overview
CK3MCuN is a superaustenitic stainless steel casting alloy specified by ASTM A743/A743M, engineered for demanding corrosion-resistant applications in aggressive service environments. It contains elevated levels of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and copper, along with nitrogen, providing exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is particularly suited for use in seawater systems, desalination plants, flue gas desulfurization units, and chemical processing equipment. Its low carbon content enhances weldability and minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion, while the addition of copper improves resistance to sulfuric acid. CK3MCuN is chosen when long-term durability and superior corrosion performance are critical.
