Overview
CK3MCuN is a superaustenitic stainless steel casting alloy covered by ASTM A744/A744M, designed for highly corrosive service in aggressive chemical and marine environments. It contains elevated levels of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, and nitrogen, which together provide outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is particularly suited for components exposed to seawater, chlorides, and sulfuric acid environments—such as those found in desalination plants, chemical processing systems, and flue gas desulfurization units. The low carbon content enhances weldability and minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion, making CK3MCuN a preferred choice for critical pressure-containing equipment in demanding service conditions.
