Overview
CF8M is an austenitic stainless steel casting alloy specified under ASTM A744/A744M, developed for use in corrosion-resistant applications across a range of industries. It is the cast equivalent of wrought 316 stainless steel and includes molybdenum for improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced attack. CF8M offers a strong combination of corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and formability, making it ideal for components such as pump housings, valve bodies, flanges, and process equipment. It is commonly used in chemical processing, marine environments, pulp and paper systems, and other applications where exposure to corrosive media demands reliable performance.
