Overview
CN7M is an austenitic stainless steel casting alloy specified by ASTM A743/A743M, designed for use in highly corrosive service environments. Its composition includes high levels of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, providing excellent resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, including sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and phosphoric acid. This alloy is particularly well-suited for applications in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and pollution control industries where strong resistance to both oxidizing and reducing agents is essential. CN7M also offers good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and is commonly used in pump components, valve bodies, and piping systems exposed to mixed acid or chloride-bearing media.
