Overview
CK3MCuN is a superaustenitic stainless steel casting alloy defined by ASTM A351/A351M, engineered for demanding pressure-containing applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. Its composition includes high levels of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, and nitrogen, providing superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is particularly suited for aggressive service environments such as seawater, brine, bleach plants, and chemical processing systems. The presence of copper improves resistance to sulfuric acid, while nitrogen enhances strength and structural stability. CK3MCuN is often selected for components in desalination, pharmaceutical, and pollution control systems where corrosion performance is critical.
